Estonian Industrial Output Falls for 4th Month
Estonia's industrial production dropped by 4.8 percent from a year earlier in September 2019, the fourth straight month of fall, after an upwardly revised 2.7 percent fall in the previous month. Output of mining (-24.1 percent vs -28.2 percent in August) and electricity, steam and hot water supply (-34.1 percent vs -48 percent) fell further. In addition, manufacturing production shrank 0.7 percent, reversing from a 3.6 percent rise in a month earlier, amid falls in manufacture of wood, fabricated metal products, and electrical equipment. On a monthly basis, industrial production fell by 1.5 percent in September, shifting from a downwardly revised 3.6 percent gain in August.

Estonian Industrial Output Shrinks for 3rd Month
Estonia's industrial production dropped 2.5 percent from a year earlier in August 2019, after an upwardly revised a 5.5 percent decrease in the previous month. This was the third straight monthly decline in industrial production, as both mining production (-28.2 percent vs -40.3 percent in July) and electricity, steam and hot water supply (-47.9 percent vs -52.0 percent) continued to fall. Meanwhile, manufacturing output expanded faster (3.9 percent vs 2.3 percent), boosted by increases in the manufacture of food products, computers and electronic products and wood. On a monthly basis, industrial production jumped 3.8 percent in August, rebounding from an upwardly revised 3.0 percent drop in July.

Estonian Industrial Output Falls the Most in 3-1/2 Years
Estonia's industrial production dropped 5.3 percent from a year earlier in July 2019, after a downwardly revised a 3.1 percent decrease in the previous month. This was the second straight monthly decline in industrial production and the steepest fall since December 2015, as both mining production (-40.3 percent vs -29.1 percent in June) and electricity, steam and hot water supply (-52.0 percent vs -51.2 percent) declined faster. In addition, manufacturing output expanded softer (2.5 percent vs 3.0 percent), boosted by increases in the manufacture of food products, computers and electronic products and wood. On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 2.9 percent in July, compared to a downwardly revised 5.2 percent drop in June.

Estonian Industrial Output Shrinks 3.8% YoY in June
Estonia's industrial production declined 3.8 percent from a year earlier in June 2019, reversing from a 1.2 percent gain in the previous month. Manufacturing output expanded softer (2.2 percent vs 4.9 percent in May), boosted by increases in the manufacture of food products, computers and electronic products and other non-metallic mineral products. Meantime, both of mining production (-29.2 percent vs -19.6 percent) and electricity, steam and hot water supply (-51.2 percent vs -25.2 percent) dropped faster. On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 5.7 percent in June, compared to a 0.3 percent rise in May.

Estonian Industrial Output Rebounds in May
Estonia's industrial production increased 1.2 percent from a year earlier in May 2019, reversing from a downwardly revised 0.3 percent fall in the previous month. Manufacturing output expanded faster (5.0 percent vs 3.6 percent in April), boosted by increases in the manufacture of food products, computers and electronic products and fabricated metal products. Meantime, both of mining production (-19.6 percent vs -16.1 percent) and electricity, steam and hot water supply (-25.2 percent vs -23.3 percent) continued to decline. On a monthly basis, industrial production went up 0.3 percent in May, compared to a downwardly revised 1.1 percent drop in April.

Estonian Industrial Output Shrinks for 1st Time in 17 Months
Estonia's industrial production declined 0.4 percent from a year earlier in April 2019, after a downwardly revised 2.3 percent growth in the previous month. It was the first contraction in industrial output since November 2017, as mining production fell faster (-16.1 percent vs -14.5 percent in March) and output of electricity, steam and hot water supply continued to drop (-23.3 percent vs -25.2 percent). In addition, manufacturing output expanded softer (3.5 percent vs 7.5 percent), boosted by increases in the manufacture of food products, computers and electronic products and furniture. On a monthly basis, industrial production decreased 1.4 percent in April, compared to a 0.6 percent rise in March.
